The collaboration between Ucell and Larsen & Toubro Limited, which until recently was just a signed memorandum, is now entering a new stage. The first antenna-mast structure (AMS) has been erected on the Ustyurt Plateau, becoming part of the new telecommunications infrastructure for the Kungrad Wind Power Plants project.
This marks the start of the construction of the communications network that will support one of Uzbekistan's largest renewable energy projects, implemented by ACWA Power.
In accordance with the signed memorandum, Ucell will build eight base stations with fiber-optic communication lines, implement hybrid power supply systems, and provide mobile communication, data transmission, and broadband internet access for both the construction sites and the subsequent operation of the facility.
The erection of the first AMS is an important milestone in the project's implementation. The remaining telecommunications infrastructure facilities will be built in the Kungrad district in the near future, ensuring stable digital connectivity throughout all stages of the wind farm's construction and operation.
The Kungrad Wind Power Plants project involves the construction of a 1,500 MW wind farm with an energy storage system and is set to become one of the largest green energy facilities in Uzbekistan. Implementing such large-scale initiatives requires a reliable digital infrastructure that ensures uninterrupted communication, rapid data exchange, and coordination among all construction participants.
For Ucell, participating in the project is another step in realizing its technological leadership strategy. The company is continuing to develop the country's digital infrastructure by implementing modern and sustainable telecommunications solutions, even in the most remote regions of Uzbekistan.
