WhatsApp Help Center
There are three ways to register:
1. With the help of a missed call;
2. With audio call;
3. Via SMS.
Registration via SMS
1. Enter your phone number:
- Select your country from the list. The country code field on the left will be filled in automatically.
- Enter your phone number in the field on the right. Do not add zeros (0) before the phone number.
2. Click Next to request a code.
3. Enter the six-digit code that you will receive via SMS.
Registering with a phone call
If you prefer not to use SMS, you can register for WhatsApp with a missed call or audio call.
Troubleshooting
If you did not receive a six-digit SMS code:
- Wait for the progress bar to show that the process is complete and try again. The wait may take up to 10 minutes.
- Do not enter the code randomly: Entering the code too often may delay confirmation.
- If the time expires before you receive the code, you will be prompted to request a phone call. Select the “Call me” option. When you answer the call, a six-digit code will be automatically dictated to you. Enter this code to verify your WhatsApp number.
If you are unable to register your phone number, try the following:
- Turn off your phone, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on.
- Uninstall and reinstall the latest version of WhatsApp.
- To test cellular reception, send a test SMS message or call from any phone to your number in the same format that you entered it in WhatsApp (with country code).
