One of the country’s leading mobile operators, Ucell, has ensured high-speed connectivity along the Tashkent–Bukhara route. This international tourist corridor — a key transport artery of Uzbekistan — links historical, cultural, and economic centers. Across the entire length of the road and railway lines, which carry streams of people, ideas, and opportunities, 72 new base stations have been built and 29 existing ones have been upgraded. Stable internet and reliable voice communication along the entire route are not a luxury, but a strategic necessity.

2024 Media Tour
Last year, Ucell intensified its efforts to improve mobile network quality along tourist routes. In April, a media tour was held along the Tashkent–Bukhara–Tashkent route, with the participation of TV journalists and bloggers. They tested the quality of the network throughout the entire journey and visited regions where the construction of base stations had only just begun.
“We’ll travel these same places again in a year, and you’ll see the difference for yourselves,” Ucell specialists promised.
The company began building base stations along international highways, at railway stations, and in remote areas outside of cities. The goal was to ensure stable connectivity along key travel routes.

2025
Promises are meaningful when fulfilled — and Ucell has delivered by building 72 new base stations along the Tashkent–Bukhara route. Today, they provide strong and consistent coverage. In addition, 29 existing sites along the route were upgraded. According to the heads of Ucell’s regional branches, the success of the project was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of local teams.
“In the Bukhara and Navoi regions, 13 new base stations have been launched along the route, and 11 existing stations have been modernized. Today, the connection is reliable and high-quality not only in the cities, but also along the highways. We are improving service quality for local residents, tourists, and business representatives,” said Mehriddin Mukhamedov, Director of Ucell-Bukhara and Ucell-Navoi regional branches.

“Over the past year, we have deployed 5G networks in 16 major shopping and entertainment centers across the country. These are strategically important locations with high daily foot traffic, and it’s crucial to provide fast and stable connectivity. For such venues, we use advanced solutions that ensure not only high-quality voice calls but also internet access at speeds exceeding 1 Gbps,” said Jaloliddin Boikulov, Head of the Integrated Solutions Group at Ucell.
At the Bukhara Savdo Majmuasi shopping complex, Qcell equipment was installed using low-power pRRU modules. As a result, we achieved strong 5G coverage throughout the entire center — more than 60,000 square meters. Visitors can comfortably use all digital services, regardless of the time of day or network load.
“Last year, on the Samarkand section of the Tashkent–Bukhara route, 29 new base stations were built and 11 existing ones were modernized. The quality of the network has significantly improved in both urban and rural areas. In tourist zones, it’s especially important that the signal remains strong. Thanks to the work of our technical team, residents and visitors in Samarkand are experiencing a noticeable improvement in connectivity,” said Emil Kurtnazarov, Director of the Ucell-Samarkand regional branch.
“We serve 10 million subscribers. Providing stable, high-quality service for each of them is our top priority. Since the beginning of last year, our team has built 118 new base stations and upgraded another 131. Samarkand is one of the first regions to develop fifth-generation base stations. The 41 5G stations are helping build a fast, stable network that truly enhances daily life. Work is ongoing throughout the region. We are committed to making cutting-edge technologies accessible to everyone — no matter their location,” added Orif Tairkhojaev, Chief Engineer of the Ucell-Samarkand regional branch.

“In the Jizzakh region, 15 new base stations were commissioned along this route over the past year. Seven existing stations were modernized. In the Syrdarya region, 11 new stations are now operational. This allowed us to cover problematic areas and ensure quality connectivity precisely where it's most needed,” shared Ruslan Urunov, Director of the Ucell-Jizzakh and Ucell-Gulistan regional branches.
Alongside network development, the company is also expanding and strengthening its service infrastructure — new sales and service centers are opening, investments are being made in staff training, and the quality of customer interaction is continuously improving.
Ucell is one of Uzbekistan’s leading mobile communication companies, providing services in GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G standards. More than 10 million subscribers trust the company.
Today, as a technology company, Ucell continues to actively implement large-scale infrastructure projects aimed at the country’s digital transformation. Under the “Digital Uzbekistan” government program, the company commissioned 9,490 new logical stations in 2024 alone, including 745 5G-format stations. At the same time, 814 existing stations were upgraded, and proprietary backbone communication lines were built between the country’s major cities.

More than 2,000 highly qualified specialists across the country work daily to maintain the network, expand its capabilities, and bring technological solutions closer to the people.
The high quality of Ucell’s network has been recognized internationally. In March 2025, Ucell received the OOKLA award at the Mobile World Congress for its high mobile internet speeds. In 2024, the company was twice named “Best Operator for Internet Speed.” Ucell has received international recognition for internet speed three years in a row.
